I fear being approached at craft fairs by doctors, nurses, or physical therapists  because I expect them to point out anatomical inaccuracies. Luckily they are usually just tickled. I’ve sold digestive system t-shirts to GI doctors, uterus t-shirts to midwives, scapula t-shirts to physical therapists.

I knew that it would be a sciencey crowd at the California Academy of Sciences Indie Mart, so I prepped my organ jewelry while trotting out the new pretty stuff I’ve been working on. I sold more of the pretty, but it was super satisfying to match up buyers with my “not for everyone” pieces.

The woman on the left is a blood doctor, and couldn’t believe how perfect the piece was for her. She couldn’t wait to show the folks at work.

The girl on the right just really loved the lung necklace.

These are my kind of people, and thanks to this grin-inducing evening, I feel back in the craft game. It’s hard to keep doing any job when you are removed from the people you are serving. Thrilled by the momentary closing of that gap.
